Wine & Dine in Pézenas
Now, we know most of you are here for the local wine and you’ve come to the right place! The Languedoc is France’s largest and much-loved wine producing region. So why not take part in a local wine-tasting experience? We highly recommend the “Seigneurie de Peyrat”, one of the Languedoc’s oldest and most respected vineyard chateaus. The present day Pezenas tourism office is the former residence of the Peyrat family dating back to the 17th century. The fifth generation of the Peyrat family are currently managing this beautiful estate.
During the wine season (01 June to 30 September), you can book a tour of the estate and partake in a “Pique-Nique Chic” between 12h and 16h. Cost is around €20 per person / €9 for children. Everything served is local – both the wine and the artisanal produce.
Check out their website for more details and for bookings.
Local treats & tips
During your stay, you will fall in love with the local bakeries and cafés. Our favourite bakery is “Pâtisserie Percheron“ on Cours Jean Jaurès for their decadent croissants, crispy “mille feuille” and multi-grain baguettes.
Pézenas boasts a wide array of restaurants, offering countless options for culinary exploration. You could easily spend your entire stay indulging in the diverse dining experiences available, hopping from one restaurant to another. Alternatively, if you prefer, you can unleash your inner chef and prepare a scrumptious meal using locally-sourced ingredients in your meticulously designed kitchen!
